GF88.79-P-2008FQ Mirror Lens Adjustment Left/Right Outside Mirror, Function
GF88.79-P-2008FQ Mirror Lens Adjustment Left/Right Outside Mirror, Function
MODEL 218
Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror function requirements, general
^ Circuit 15R ON or circuit 15 ON
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Storage of mirror glass position not active
^ Valid mirror selection available
The electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) transmits the status of circuit 15 over the interior CAN (CAN B) to the left front door control unit (N69/1).
Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror, function general
The mirror glass in the left outside mirror (M21/1) and right outside mirror (M21/2) can be adjusted electrically.
The mirror glass adjustment of the left/right outside mirror comprises the following subfunctions: These are:
^ Adjust mirror glass function sequence
^ Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass position (with code (275) Electrically adjustable front seats, memory package)
Adjust mirror glass function sequence
The corresponding outside mirror is selected via the left outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s10) or right mirror adjustment switch (S20s11).
The selected outside mirror is indicated by an LED in the corresponding outside mirror adjustment switch.
The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position with the outside mirror adjustment switch S20s12. The position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.
The adjustment request is read via the left front door LIN (LIN B5) by the left front door control unit, which relays the information for the right outside mirror to the right front door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN.
The left front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m1) and horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m2).
The right front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m1) and horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m2).
Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass position (with code (275) Electrically adjustable front seats, memory package)
The store/retrieve mirror glass position subfunction comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Store mirror glass position function sequence
^ Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
Store mirror glass position function sequence
There are two button actuation possibilities for saving:
- Hold down left front memory function switch (S22s6) and then press left front memory switch 1 (S22s7), left front memory switch 2 (S22s8) or left front memory switch 3 (S22s9) for the corresponding memory location.
- Press left front memory switch function for t > 100 ms. Press left front memory switch 1, left front memory switch 2 or left front memory switch less than or equal to 3 within 0.2 s to 3 s for the corresponding memory location.
The status of the switches is read in by the left front door control unit over the left door LIN.
The position is stored in the left front door control unit and right front door control unit based on the data from the following potentiometers:
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r3)
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3)
Parallel to this the position of the driver seat and steering column are stored in the driver sear control unit (N32/1).
Successful storage is acknowledged by the instrument cluster (A1) with an acknowledgment tone.
Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
A stored mirror position can be called up via one of the memory switches.
For this purpose, actuate one of the memory switches until the stored position is reached.
Actuation of one of the switches is read in by the left front door control unit and forwarded via the interior CAN to the driver seat control unit.
This requests the left front door control unit and right front door control unit to mover the mirror glass to the stored position via the interior CAN.
The left front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor and the horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor.
The right front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor and the horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor.
