GF91.25-P-2034FQ Position Storage for Active Multicontour Seat With Memory Function

GF91.25-P-2034FQ Position Storage For Active Multicontour Seat With Memory Function
MODEL 218
- with CODE (432) Active multicontour seat
- with CODE (275) Electrically adjustable front seats memory package

Function requirements, general
^ Circuit 15R ON
or
^ Circuit 15 ON
^ Pressure supply active
^ Status of left front door control unit (N69/1) or right front door control unit (N69/2) on the interior CAN (CAN B) OK
^ Status of active multicontour seat pneumatic pump (M40/1) on interior CAN OK
^ No on-board electrical system limp-home mode

The circuit status is received by the left front active multicontour seat control unit (N32/19) over interior CAN from the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73).

Function description for position storage, general
For vehicles with code (494) USA version only the driver seat is an active multicontour seat.
The position storage function is described at the driver seat for left-hand drive vehicles by way of an example, but this also applies for the front passenger seat.
While saving, not only the seat cushion contour but also the position of the seat adjustment, the steering column, and the two outside mirrors on the driver-side are stored. The seat setting is stored at the same time on the passenger side for the seat cushion contour.

The pressures adjusted in the multicontour cushions of the driver seat as well as the position of the Dynamics button (S109s6) can be stored in a non-volatile memory by the left front active multicontour seat control unit (N32/19) and retrieved again. Storing and calling up the stored positions is performed using the left front memory 1 switch (S22s7), left front memory 2 switch (S22s8), left front memory 3 switch (S22s9) position keys of the left front switch group, seat adjustment (S22). The status of the switches is read in over the left front door-LIN (LIN B5) by the left front door control unit (N69/1) and sent over the interior CAN (CAN B) to the driver seat control unit (N32/1), whereupon this then forwards the respective memory position 1/2/3 to the left front active multicontour seat control unit (N32/19).

Abort conditions
- Adjustment request from driver seat control unit (N32/1)

The position saving function has the following structure:
^ Saving a seat contour
^ Retrieving a seat contour

Saving a seat contour
The left front memory-function switch (S22s6) and the memory switch 1, 2, 3 position keys of the left front switch group, seat adjustment store the seat contour.
There are two possibilities for storing the seat contour:
- Hold down left front memory function switch and then press left front memory switch 1, left front memory switch 2 or left front memory switch 3 for the corresponding memory location.
- Press the left front memory function switch for longer than 100 ms and then release. Press left front memory switch 1, left front memory switch 2 or left front memory switch 3 within 0.2 s to 3 s.
It is possible to overwrite the stored values at any time. No cushion contour has been saved at the factory (cushion at minimum pressure). Once successfully saved by the instrument cluster (A1) a brief acknowledgment tone is issued.
It is not possible to save a set cushion contour during a manual adjustment.

Retrieving a seat contour
A saved seat contour can be restored afterwards, after pressing one of the left front memory 1 switch, left front memory 2 switch or the left front memory 3 switch position keys (memory request).
A memory request using one of the memory 1, 2, 3 switch position keys during the "Massage program" function will interrupt the "Massage program" function. After that, the requested memory position is actuated again. The "Massage program" is stopped for a specific period and not continued with until the next cycle starts.

Detailed "active multicontour seat massage function" subfunction
At the same time, when a stored position is called up, not only the previously-stored seat contour for the active multicontour seat, but also the stored seat setting and - on the driver-side - the setting for the steering column and the two outside mirrors are also moved to. However, in contrast to calling up a stored seat contour for the active multicontour seat, when adjusting these positions, the respective position key must be pressed and held until the stored end positions are reached ("hold memory").
Detailed information on "Hold memory" (the programmed EOL as-delivered state) or "Press memory" (can be activated through the diagnosis assistance system (DAS)), see the system description "Electrical seat adjustment (ESE) function".
