GF91.25-P-2036FQ Massage Function for Active Multicontour Seat, Function
GF91.25-P-2036FQ Massage Function For Active Multicontour Seat, Function
MODEL 218
- with CODE (432) Active multicontour seat
Function requirements, general
^ Circuit 15R or circuit 15 ON
^ Pressure supply active
^ No on-board electrical system limp-home mode
^ Status of pneumatics pump for active multicontour seat (M40/1) on interior CAN (CAN B) OK
The circuit status is received by the left front active multicontour seat control unit (N32/19) or the right front active multicontour seat control unit (N32/22) over the interior CAN from the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73).
For vehicles with code (494) USA version only the driver seat is an active multicontour seat.
Function description for massage function, general
The massage function is described at the driver seat for left-hand drive vehicles by way of an example, but this also applies for right- hand drive vehicles.
The massage function is started using the Massage function button (S109s1). An active program is indicated by an LED in the massage function button lighting up.
The massage function is a convenience function and lets the driver or front passenger relax, in particular, during longer trips. The intensity of the "Massage function" program can be adjusted in two stages.
Open circuit
In the following adjustment, a massage cycle is ended and the main valve is closed. The massage function is continued after the end of the interruption conditions when the next cycle starts:
- Manual lumbar support adjustment
- Manual adjustment of lateral support
- Adjustment request based on memory
Abort conditions
- Overvoltage or undervoltage
- Reference position in left front massage function actuator motor (M94) not OK
- Target position in left front massage function actuator motor not reached
- Overloading of active multicontour seat pneumatic pump (M40/1) in combination with an active dynamic function
- Adjustment request in accordance with PRE-SAFE(R)
- Channel 1 of the driver's active multicontour seat button group (S109) has a short circuit to ground or is jammed.
Blocking
When the following fault is active, the function is blocked for the running ignition sequence:
- Reference position in left front massage function actuator motor (M94) not OK
- Channel 1 of the driver's active multicontour seat button group (S109) has a short circuit to ground or is jammed.
The massage function is split up as follows:
^ Start and end
^ Program sequence
^ Control of main valve
^ Control of seat massage function actuator motor
^ Compressed-air supply
Start and end
The massage function can be adjusted in two stages and it is indicated by two LEDs in the Massage function button. The program starts here after the Massage function button is pressed in stage 2 (strong), this is indicated by the LEDs lighting in the Massage function button. If the Massage function button is pressed again stage 1 (weak) is executed, this is indicated by an LED lighting. A third press of the Massage function button results in the "Massage function" program ending whereupon the two LEDs go out. The massage program automatically ends after a sequence of 20 cycles.
Program sequence
Massage program "1 weak (undulating)"
After pressing the Massage function button, the air supply through the main valve to the left front seat massage function actuator motor is opened by the left front active multicontour seat control unit.
Starting with the lower air cushion of the massage insert, the contour in the 1st row of the massage insert changes sequentially through inflating, holding and deflating the pressure. After a defined waiting time, the cycle for layer 2 is started according to the same pattern.
If the waiting time has elapsed during inflation of layer 7 of the massage insert, the cycle is continued with layer 1. The left front seat massage function actuator motor has a total of 23 slide positions, which can be moved to during a massage cycle.
The pressure difference between the deflated and the inflated massage cushion is approx. 100 mbar. A wave motion is created by alternately deflating and inflating the massage cushion. After a period of approx. 8 min. the program is automatically ended.
Massage program "2 strong (rolling)"
As long as this massage program is active, the contour of the 1st layer of the massage insert is sequentially altered by inflating, maintaining and relieving the pressure. After a defined waiting time, the cycle for layer 2 is started according to the same pattern.
If the waiting time has elapsed during inflation of layer 7 of the massage insert, the cycle is continued with layer 6 if the so-called turn period has expired. The layers are then actuated in reverse order down to layer 1. The cycle starts again from the beginning. After a period of approx. 12 min. the program is automatically ended.
The massage can be performed in both functions with two characteristics, i.e. "weak" or "strong". This results in four massage programs which can be programmed through the Diagnosis Assistance System (DAS).
Control of main valve
The main valve is actuated by the left front active multicontour seat control unit and is located in the left front massage function actuator motor (M94).
Control of seat massage function actuator motor
The left front seat massage function actuator motor is actuated by the left front active multicontour seat control unit (N32/19). The left front seat massage function actuator motor has a total of 23 slide positions, which can be moved to during a massage cycle.
The positions are monitored using a reference position (limit switch).
Parallel to the control cycle, the individual steps are also counted and monitored by the left front active multicontour seat control unit.
Compressed-air supply
The air supply, required for inflating the air cushion, is provided by the active multicontour seat pneumatic pump.
