Wipe stop in general
The wipe stop function prevents the wiper motor (M6/1) from being actuated when the engine hood is open.
Wipe stop function sequence
If at a speed of v < 3 km/h an open engine hood is detected by the engine hood anti-theft alarm system switch (S62), the corresponding wipe function is immediately interrupted.
The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) transmits circuit 15 status to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via the interior CAN (CAN B).
The steering column tube module control unit (N80) reads in the position of the combination switch (S4) directly and makes it available via the chassis CAN (CAN E).
The status of the engine hood anti-theft alarm system switch is made available by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and information on the vehicle speed is made available by the instrument cluster (A1) via the interior CAN. The front SAM control unit reads in all the relevant information and interrupts the actuation of the wiper motor.
The wipe stop function is interrupted at a speed of v > 6 km/h, i.e. the wiper motor is actuated as of this speed again.
