1 Finish cutout on insulation mat (14) on left on glove compartment (13).
Component Identification:
2 Make a mark on the left at glove compartment (13) corresponding to dimensions "d" and "e".
Dimensions:
d = 30 mm
e = 100 mm
3 Drill hole (arrow A) with a diameter of 19 mm corresponding to the mark made beforehand on the left at glove compartment (13).

4 Open cover of glove compartment (13).
5 Route iPod wiring harness (8) in glove compartment (13) and route black iPod wiring harness coupling (7) as well as the white, 2-pin coupling (12) of iPod wiring harness (8) to the outside through previously drilled hole.
6 Insert grommet (15) into hole.
7 Wrap felt tape (16) around iPod wiring harness (8), beginning at glove compartment (13).
8 Wrap felt tape (17) around iPod interface (6) as shown.
Leave a cutout free for adhesive strips (18) included in package contents.
9 Stick adhesive strips (18) included in package contents, as shown, onto iPod interface (6).
10.1 Release lock (19) of contact cavity 1 on housing (22) included as part of the package contents, insert coupling of iPod wiring harness (3) into contact cavity 1 and close lock (19) again.
On vehicles without code (610) Night View Assist.
10.2 Release lock (19) of contact cavity 1 on green housing (20) of the Night View Assist (21) line located in the radio recess, insert coupling for iPod interface wiring harness (3) into contact cavity 1 and close lock (19).
On vehicles with code (610) Night View Assist.
11 Remove fiber optic cable (23) from black, 44-pin coupling (1) and install at same position in black 44-pin coupling (4).
Only if installed.
12 Connect black 44-pin connector (2) of iPod interface wiring harness (3) to black 44-pin coupling (1) of vehicle wiring harness.
The black 44-pin coupling (4) and the coupling with the green housing (20 or 22) will be connected to the removed COMAND controller unit at a later point.
13 Route blue, 18-pin coupling (5) and white, 2-pin connector (11) of wiring harness for iPod interface (3) to right under instrument panel.
14 Wrap iPod interface wiring harness (3) with felt tape.
15 Connect blue, 18-pin coupling (5) of iPod interface wiring harness (3) to iPod interface (6).
16 Remove protective foil from adhesive strip at iPod interface (6) and glue iPod interface (6) to cable duct (24).
17 Fold floor covering (25) to one side and route iPod interface wiring harness (3) behind this.
18 Place glove compartment (13) in front passenger footwell.
19 Connect white 2-pin connector (11) of wiring harness for iPod interface (3) with white 2-pin coupling (12) of wiring harness for iPod (8).
20 Connect black iPod wiring harness coupling (7) of iPod wiring harness (8) at top (arrow B) to iPod interface (6).
21 Attach white, 2-pin coupling (12) and white, 2-pin plug (11), as shown, using felt tape (26) onto the iPod interface (6).
