GF80.20-P-3009FL Locking/Unlocking Vehicle With Inside Switch, Function
GF80.20-P-3009FL Locking/unlocking Vehicle With Inside Switch, Function
Function requirements, general
^ Vehicle must not be locked from outside with transmitter key (A8/1)
Locking/unlocking vehicle with inside switch, general
The central locking (CL) can be operated with the left front door central locking interior actuation switch (S85/5) and right front door central locking interior actuation switch (S85/6).
The function locking/unlocking vehicle with interior switch comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for locking/unlocking CL
^ Function sequence for unlocking trunk lid (model 212.0) or liftgate (model 212.2) (opening)
Function sequence for locking/unlocking CL
Actuation of the left front door central locking interior actuation switch is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1), actuation of the right front door central locking interior actuation switch is read in by the right front door control unit (N69/2) and is relayed to the electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) with interior CAN (CAN B).
The electronic ignition switch control unit transmits the corresponding request with interior CAN to the:
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Left front door control unit
- Right front door control unit
- Left rear door control unit (N69/3)
- Right rear door control unit (N69/4)
They unlock or lock the:
- Left front door lock (A85)
- Right front door lock (A85/1)
- Left rear door lock (A85/3)
- Right rear door lock (A85/4)
Opening the trunk lid or the liftgate is enabled or inhibited by the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) (model 212.0) or the liftgate external operation switch (S88/8) (model 212.2.) by the rear SAM control unit.
When locking with the central locking interior actuation switch, the tank cap remains always unlocked.
Enabled locking functions depending on door status:
Driver door open:
- All doors except the driver door and the trunk lid are locked.
Passenger door open:
- Locking with the left front door central locking interior actuation switch is inhibited
Opening a door from the inside when the CL is locked:
Basically each door can be opened from the inside (except with code (885) Extended theft protection with active additional door lock or when the mechanical child safety lock on the rear doors (without code (494) USA version) is activated). At least the corresponding door is opened mechanically.
If the vehicle was unlocked globally before locking, the CL is actuated centrally.
Additional function requirements for unlocking trunk lid or liftgate (opening)
- Speed v < 3 km/h
Function sequence for unlocking trunk lid or liftgate (opening) The trunk lid or liftgate unlocking (opening) function consists of the following subfunctions:
- Function sequence for opening via remote trunk lid release button (S15/1) (model 212.0 without code (881) Remote trunk closing (RTC))
- Function sequence for opening via driver trunk lid control button (S15/3) (model 212.0 with code (881) Remote trunk closing (RTC))
- Function sequence for opening via driver liftgate control button (S15/3) (model 212.2)
- Function sequence for opening via Trunk lid emergency opening switch (S88/10) (model 212.0 with code (494) USA version)
Function sequence for opening via remote trunk lid release button (model 212.0 without code (881) Remote trunk closing (RTC))
Actuation of the trunk lid release button for t ≥ 0.5 s is read in directly by the left front door control unit and relayed to the rear SAM control unit with interior CAN.
This unlocks the rotary tumbler on the trunk lid with trunk lid central locking motor (M14/7).
The trunk lid is opened up to the upper stop by spring force.
Function sequence for opening via driver trunk lid control button (model 212.0 with code (881) Remote trunk closing (RTC))
Actuation of the driver trunk lid control button for t ≥ 0.5 s is read in directly by the left front door control unit and relayed to the rear SAM control unit with interior CAN.
This unlocks the rotary tumbler on the trunk lid with trunk lid central locking motor.
Then the trunk lid is opened automatically:
Detailed information on the trunk lid control is given in the function description "Remote trunk lid closing"
Function sequence for opening via driver liftgate control button (model 212.2)
Actuation of the driver liftgate control button for t ≥ 0.5 s is read in directly by the left front door control unit and relayed to the rear SAM control unit with interior CAN. This unlocks the rotary tumbler on the liftgate over the liftgate central locking motor (M14/7). The liftgate is then opened automatically.
Detailed information on the liftgate control is given in the function description "Rear-end door remote control"
Function sequence for opening via trunk lid emergency opening switch (model 212.0 with code (494) USA version)
This function is always activated (regardless of the CL status), because it allows the trunk lid to be opened by a person trapped in the trunk.
The trunk lid emergency opening switch is located on the inside of the trunk lid and is read in by the rear SAM control unit.
When the trunk lid emergency opening switch is actuated, the rear SAM control unit actuates the trunk lid central locking motor to unlock the rotary tumbler. The trunk lid is opened up to the upper stop by spring force.
