GF91.29-P-5241FL Front Passenger Seat Control Unit, Component Description

GF91.29-P-5241FL Front Passenger Seat Control Unit, Component Description
- with CODE (275) Electrically adjustable front seats with memory package

Component Identification:

Location
The passenger seat control unit (N32/2) is located at the bottom of the passenger frame.

Task
- Control of seat adjustment in accordance with the requests sent over the interior CAN (CAN B)
- Storing of the memory adjustments for the front passenger seat
- Control of head restraint presetting (only code (494) USA version, Code (460) Canada version or code (498) Japan version)
- Actuation of collision avoidance
- Storage request for set pressures to corresponding memory position for dynamic multicontour seat (with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat)
- Control of collision avoidance with rear bench seat
- Actuating PRE-SAFE positioning function of passenger seat

These are grouped as follows:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluating input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors and signals
These input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
- Circuit 30
- Tml. 31

The following sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Hall sensors of the seat adjustment motors

Interior CAN
- Left front seat adjustment switch group (S22) by left front door control unit (N69/1) (right-hand drive vehicle)
- Right front seat adjustment switch group (S23) by right front door control unit (N69/2) (left-hand drive vehicle)
- Left rear backrest inclination switch (S54/5) or right rear seat inclination switch (S54/6) by rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Information on adjusted seat positions for corresponding storage of memory positions for dynamic multicontour seat (with code (432) Dynamic multicontour seat, left and right)
- Signals for Pre-Safe position function from electronic stability program control unit (N30/4) transmitted to chassis CAN (CAN E), routed by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) to the interior CAN (CAN B) and transmitted to the passenger seat control unit.
- Status of left rear backrest lock switch (S54/7) or right rear backrest lock switch (S54/8) by rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

The signals are read in/transmitted by the passenger seat control unit. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic of corresponding system).

Evaluation of input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the front passenger seat control unit. The actuation of the seat adjustment motors takes place via integrated relays.

Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
The following motors are actuated via direct lines:
- Front passenger seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M28/1)
- Front passenger seat height adjustment motor (M28/2)
- Front passenger seat inclination adjustment motor (M28/3)
- Front passenger seat head restraint adjustment motor (M28/4)
- Front passenger seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M28/5)

Interior CAN
- Commands for adjusting correspondingly stored nominal value for air pressure of individual air cushions to corresponding memory positions of dynamic multicontour seat to right front dynamic multicontour seat control unit (N32/22) (with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat)

Variants
There are no variants for the hardware of the front passenger seat control unit. The country or left-hand drive vehicle/right hand drive vehicle allocation is software coded.
