Wipe stop in general
The wipe stop function prevents the wiper motor (M6/1) from being actuated when the engine hood is open.
Wipe stop function sequence
If at a speed of v < 3 km/h an open engine hood is detected by the engine hood antitheft alarm system switch (S62), the corresponding wipe function is immediately interrupted
The electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) transmits circuit 15 status to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via the interior CAN (CAN B).
The steering column tube module control unit (N80) reads in the position of the combination switch (S4) directly and makes it available on the chassis CAN (CAN E). The status of the engine hood antitheft alarm system switch is sent by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) along with information on the vehicle speed to the instrument cluster (A1) over the interior CAN. The front SAM control unit reads in all relevant information and interrupts wiper motor actuation. The wipe stop function is interrupted at a speed of v > 6 km/h, i.e. the wiper motor is actuated as from this speed again.
