GF88.79-P-2006FL Passenger-Side Outside Mirror Park Position, Function
GF88.79-P-2006FL Passenger-side Outside Mirror Park Position, Function
- with CODE (275) Electrically adjustable front seats memory package
Function requirements, general
^ Circuit 15 ON or circuit 15R ON
^ Function in instrument cluster (A1) enabled
^ Right outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s11) selected
^ Position measurement supplies valid readings
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Vehicle speed v < 10 km/h
The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) transmits the circuit status c. 15 via the interior CAN (CAN B).
To enable the function, activate menu in multifunction display (A1p13) with the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction wheel button group (S111). The signals from the multifunction steering wheel button group are read in by the steering wheel electronics (N135) and sent over the steering LIN (LIN E1) to the steering column tube module control unit (N80). The steering column tube module control unit routes the signals over the chassis CAN (CAN E) to the instrument cluster.
The instrument cluster enables the function via the interior CAN.
Function sequence for park position of passenger side outside mirror, general
A park position can be stored for the passenger side outside mirror and actuated electrically to observe the curbstone when backing up.
The function of the passenger side outside mirror park position comprises the following three subfunctions: These are:
^ Actuate park position function sequence
^ Store park position function sequence
^ Move to drive position function sequence
Actuate park position function sequence
When the transmission is shifted to reverse for t > 0.6 s, the right mirror glass is moved to the park position by the right front door control unit (N69/2) by the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m1) and horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m2).
Reading status of reverse gear:
- With transmission 711 or 716 (manual transmission):
The backup lamp switch (S16/2) is read in directly by the front SAM control unit. It transmits the status to the right front door control unit via the interior CAN.
- With transmission 722.6 (5-speed automatic transmission):
The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) relays the status reverse gear to the CDI control unit (N3/9) (on diesel engine) or ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) (on gasoline engine) over the drive CAN (CAN C). It transmits the signal via the chassis CAN (CAN E) to the front SAM control unit, which sends the status to the right front door control unit via the interior CAN.
- With transmission 722.9 (7-speed automatic transmission):
The fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4) transmits the status reverse gear to the CDI control unit (on diesel engine) or ME-SFI control unit (on gasoline engine) via the drive CAN. It transmits the signal via the chassis CAN to the front SAM control unit, which sends the status to the right front door control unit via the interior CAN.
Store park position function sequence
First adjust described park position of right outside mirror (M21/2) manually via the right outside mirror adjustment switch. The park position is stored by the left front seat adjustment switch group (S22). After momentarily pressing the left front memory function switch (S22s6) and then actuating the right outside mirror adjustment switch in any direction within t = 3s, the momentary outside mirror position is stored as park position.
The left front door control unit (N69/1) reads in the status driver side switch group and seat adjustment switch group via the left front door LIN (LIN B5).
A manual adjustment of the right outside mirror in the park position is stored as a new park position.
Move to drive position function sequence
The right outside mirror is moved back automatically to the original position, if one of the following statuses is fulfilled:
- Circuit 15 Off
- Signal for reverse gear is not present for approx. t = 10 s
- The vehicle speed is v > 10 km/h
- The left outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s10) is actuated The original position is resumed, even when the right outside mirror has been moved to the park position manually.
