AH42.00-P-0003-01RQ Notes on Repairs to Brake System
- with CODE (B07) Ceramic brake system
The ceramic brake disk ring (1) of the brake disk is very brittle, caused by the principle of operation, and is therefore sensitive to loads such as blows, camber, torsion and bending
Always handle brake disks with great care as brake disks with excessive cracks, breakouts and chippings may not be used
Brake disks may
^ not be machined, no stock removal may occur, do not loosen or retighten fastening agents (2),
^ not be blocked or removed/installed with hammers, levers, pliers or other tools,
^ not come into contact with cleaners, lubricants or operating fluids,
^ may only be put down on the brake disk bowl (3) and not the top edge or on the friction surface of the brake disk ring (1),
^ only be stored and transported in suitable containers.
In order to avoid damage to the brake disk ring (1) due to mechanical influences, proceed particularly carefully when:
^ Detaching/attaching the wheels,
^ Remove/installation of brake caliper, brake pads and brake disks,
^ all work in the area of the wheel wells, e.g. Remove/install suspension struts, transverse control arms, stabilizer bars etc,
^ Lowering the vehicle with detached wheels.
Only turn the steering by turning the steering wheel, not by pulling or pushing on the brake caliper and brake disk
