^ Accept call (incl. toggle)
^ Voice control system
Detailed information on the function sequence for the overall function and the component functions is included in the system description for the "Mobile phone system".
Operating instructions
The mobile phone system can be operated using the following components:
^ Buttons on the mobile phone
^ Telephone buttons on center console button group (S148)
^ Left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)
^ Voice control system (VCS [SBS])
Address book
The user can manage all the contact data in the address book (view, edit, add, delete and create). The address book contains the address entries stored in the COMAND controller unit. Data (names, vCards and standard numbers) can also be loaded from the mobile phone telephone book into the COMAND controller unit address book when a mobile phone is connected to the cell phone separation point.
The data from the mobile phone's telephone book is also permanently available when the mobile phone is no longer attached to the portable CTEL separation point. Address entries can only be removed by deleting individual entries or by deleting the entire address book. The Bluetooth interface of the mobile phone and the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) can be used to transmit data from other external devices (e.g. PDA, laptop, etc.) into the address book.
The COMAND controller unit's PCMCIA slot can be used to transfer vCards from a PCMCIA card into the address book. These data are then permanently available as address entries. Address- relevant mobile phone system applications can be directly started and supplied with the stored data via address book entries. Address entries can contain the following information:
- Names (surname and first name)
- Postal addresses (private or business)
- Telephone numbers (private, business, fixed line network, mobile or car)
- Company name
- Geo position (private or business)
- Notes
Entries can be provided with voice commands (voice tags) for the voice control system. The address book displays the address entries stored in the COMAND controller unit and the data loaded from the mobile phone's telephone book.
"Private mode"
When in "Private mode" the user can make a telephone call without other vehicle occupants being able to hear the conversation. Telephone calls are made in "Private mode" when one of the following conditions is given:
- Separation of mobile phone from portable CTEL separation point during telephone conversation in hands-free mode
- Call accepted in handsfree mode and then pressing the button on the headset
- Establishment of call using buttons on mobile phone when mobile phone is disconnected from portable CTEL separation point and operated via Bluetooth
"Seamless switch"
"Seamless switch" means either that an existing telephone connection to the mobile phone is maintained when the phone is separated from the cell phone separation point or that an existing call is routed to the COMAND controller unit when the mobile phone is connected to the cell phone separation point.
Toggling
The user can switch back and forth between telephone calls with 2 people. While the user talks to one person on the line, the connection to the other is put on hold. However, voice transmission is interrupted.
