N52 Vario roof control control unit

Location
The vario roof control control unit is located behind the passenger seat in the rear wall.

Tasks
The vario roof control control unit actuates the vario roof operation and opens and closes the rear side windows.
With vario roof operation or central operation of side windows, the vario roof control control unit transmits the request to open and close the front side windows via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the left front door control unit (N69/1) and right front door control unit (N69/2).

The vario roof control control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluating input factors
^ Actuating components

Reading in of sensors and signals
These input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
The vario roof control control unit reads in the signals for the following components via direct lines:
- Hydraulic fluid temperature sensor (A7/5b1)
- Vario roof 'Closed' limit switch (left pin) (S69)
- Left Vario roof 'Locked' limit switch (S69/2)
- Right Vario roof 'Locked' limit switch (S69/3)
- Rear shelf limit switch (S69/4)
- Trunk partition "closed" limit switch (S69/10)
- Vario roof 'Stowed' limit switch (S69/11)
- Vario roof operation switch (S84s1)
- - Electrically operated windows central operating switch (S84s2)
- Tubular frame "locked" limit switch (S118)
- Tubular frame "open" limit switch (S119)

Interior CAN
The signals are read in by the vario roof control control unit over the interior CAN.
The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated.

Actuating components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
The vario roof control control unit actuates the following components via direct lines:
- Left rear power window motor (M10/5)
- Right rear power window motor (M10/6)
- Rear shelf drive electric motor (M28/18)
- Vario roof control hydraulic unit electric motor (A7/5m1) in vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5)
- Vario roof solenoid valve (A7/5y1) in vario roof control hydraulic unit
- Switch and control illumination (circuit 58d) Vario roof/power window switch group (S84)

Interior CAN
The signals are transmitted by the vario roof control control unit over the interior CAN
