Reason for change

Complaint:
Vehicle intermittently has no power or reduced power, engine switches to unit protection function (limp-home mode)

Cause:
Limits for unit protection function set out too conservatively

Remedy:
Perform software update of engine and transmission control unit.

The software can be obtained from the STAR TekInfo: STAR TekInfo/Star Diagnosis / Downloads - Model 204 AMG with M156 engine and transmission SRCD

The software will be eventually available with DAS/Xentry version 11/2012.

Note:
Please take into consideration that, even after the temperature threshold is adjusted, the unit protection function may still become active at high outside temperatures and/or in extreme operating conditions.
