Mirrors: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTIONThe Power Mirrors are operated by an instrument panel mounted switch that has two controls. One control directs power to either the Left or Right Power Mirror. The other control directs power to the UP/DN or Left/Right Motor in the appropriate Power Mirror.
OPERATION
With the Ignition Switch in "ACC" or "RUN", voltage is present at the Power Mirror Switch.
With the Power Mirror switch Left/Right Select Switch in the "RIGHT" position and the Directional Control Switch held in the "UP" position, current flows through Fuse 10 (Mirror), a set of Power Mirror Switch Up/Down Switch Up contacts, circuit KA12 (Y),the Right Power Mirror UP/DN Motor, circuit KA16 (O/BK), the Power Mirror Switch Left/Right Switch Right contacts and a second set of Power Mirror Switch Up/ Down Switch Up contacts to ground. The Right Power Mirror UP/DN Motor runs and the mirror face pivots upward. When the Directional Control Switch is released, both sets of Up contacts open and the UP/DN Motor stops running. Moving the Directional Control Switch to the "DOWN" position causes current to follow the same path, but in the opposite direction. The UP/DN Motor then runs in the opposite direction and the mirror face pivots downward.
Left/Right operation of the Right Power Mirror and operation of the Left Power Mirror is similar to that described above.
