Check Value

1. Key On Engine Off (KOEO)/Key On Engine Running (KOER).
2. Select ENGINE.
3. Select DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.
4. Select the signal.
5. Read the value in RPM, percent (Duty Cycle), mS, MPH or KPH, DEG, °F or °C or V.

Change Condition to Cause Response by Input

1. KOEO or KOER.
2. Select ENGINE.
3. Select DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.
4. Select the sensor.
5. Create the condition or the change in condition.
6. Observe the change in the sensor value; verify with the EEC Graphs and Charts.
7. Examples:
- Move the throttle, observe the TP increase.
- Warm up the engine, observe the ECT increase.
- Press the accelerator pedal, observe the IDLE SW turn OFF.

Change Input and Verify Output Response

1. KOEO or KOER.
2. Select the actuator.
3. Create the change for the input device with the vehicle operation.
4. Observe the change (response) in the actuator signal.
5. Examples:
- Increase the throttle (TP) in DATA MONITOR AND RECORD, observe the Spark Output (SPOUT) increase.
- Increase the ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE in ACTIVE TEST, observe the LFAN or the HFAN turn ON according to the temperature increase. Refer to the Diagnostic Reference Values.
- Turn on the A/C, observe the AC SW turn ON in DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.
- Turn on the A/C, with the engine running, observe the ACR turn ON in DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.

Click Testing and Output State Check (Relays/Solenoids)

1. KOEO only.
2. Select ENGINE.
3. Select ACTIVE TEST
4. Select the relay or solenoid signal.
5. Press the ON/OFF key (number 7) to turn the relay or solenoid on and off.
6. Listen for "click" of the device turning on, observe the signal turn on and the device energizing.
