NGS Scan Tool Hookup

The following procedure is used to connect the NGS Scan Tool to the vehicle.
1. Confirm that the Memory Card is inserted in the slot in the back of the NGS Scan Tool.
2. Connect the Data Link Connector (DLC) adapter to the NGS Scan Tool.

3. Connect the DLC adapter to the DLC connector on the vehicle.

NGS Scan Tool Power Connection:

4. Plug the NGS Scan Tool power cable connector into the battery power hookup adapter. Connect the red adapter clip to the positive battery post and the black adapter clip to the negative battery post, (Figure 1).




NOTE: For road test, connect the NGS Scan Tool power cable connector to the cigar lighter, (Figure 2).
Using the battery to power the NGS scan tool is more convenient, since the cigar lighter is not hot at all times. Starting the engine, while monitoring items in Key ON, engine off, will take you back to the initialization and then to the Main Menu.
