BPA3 - Check BPA Valve Function

- Remove the Bypass Air (BPA) valve from the engine.

- Cool the BPA valve.





- When the valve is cold (room temperature) blow through the valve air port or air inlet.

- Verify that air flows freely through the valve.

- Apply 12 volts and ground to the BPA valve connector.

- Verify that the bimetal moves to restrict bypass airflow.

- Does the BPA valve function properly?

YES -- GO to BPA4. BPA4 - Check IAC Valve Resistance

NO -- REPLACE the BPA valve.
