IA4 - Check Throttle Linkage

^ Check the throttle linkage for damage, proper installation, and freedom of movement when accelerator pedal is depressed.

^ Is the linkage correctly installed, and does it operate properly?

YES -- GO to IA5. IA5 - Check Throttle Body Condition

NO -- SERVICE, CLEAN or REPLACE the linkage or part in question. ADJUST the cable by loosening the locknut and tightening the adjusting nut until the throttle drum starts to move. From that position, TURN back the adjusting nut 1.5 to 2 turns and TIGHTEN the locknut.
