Park/Neutral Position Switch

Switch-Park/Neutral Position

The Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch is integrated into Manual Lever Position (MLP) switch. The MLP switch is located on the front of the transaxle at the lower LH corner. The PNP switch electrical connector is a two-pin connector. The MLP switch connector is a seven-pin connector.

The PNP switch prevents accidental vehicle movement caused by engine cranking with the selector lever in the forward or reverse gears. The PNP switch is wired in series with the starter relay and allows engine cranking only when the PNP switch is closed (in the P or N positions).
