^ AIR CONDITIONING - BLOWER MOTOR - RESISTOR THERMAL LIMITER FUSE CUTS OFF POWER TO RESISTOR COILS
^ AIR CONDITIONING - BLOWER MOTOR LOW, MEDIUM-LOW, AND MEDIUM-HIGH SPEEDS INOPERATIVE
LIGHT TRUCK: 1993 VILLAGER
ISSUE:
The front air conditioning blower motor low, medium-low, and medium-high blower speeds may be inoperative. The high blower motor resistor thermal limiter fuse may cut off power under these conditions. Only the high blower continues to operate when the fuse is blown.
ACTION:
Use the removal and installation procedure below to replace the blower motor resistor.
The set-point of the thermal limiter is 225~F (+0/-7) (107~C). When internal blower case temperatures exceed the resistor thermal limiter fuse set-point, it will cause an open circuit in the resistor. This happens with the front blower motor. The rear (auxiliary) unit is not affected.
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Remove the blower motor resistor thermal limiter which is a fuse within the resistor assembly. Refer to the 1993 Villager Service Manual, Section 12-02-44, for removal and installation procedures.
2. Replace the resistor (F3XY-19A706-B) for the Front A/C Blower and Heater Assembly.
3. For Auxiliary Blower Motor Resistor concerns, continue to use (F3XY-19A706-A).
