This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to include 1994-96 model years and to revise the tightening sequence in Figure 7.
ISSUE:
Rear bench seat "squeaks or rattles" may be caused by excessive clearance of the rear bench seat slide rails normally due to improper adjustment of bench seat slide rails.
ACTION:
Adjust the rear bench rollers to eliminate excessive slide rail clearance. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Lift the seat back release handle on the center bucket/bench seat and fold the seat back fully forward (Figure 1).
2. Lift the seat cushion release lever on the rear bench seat and latch the seat cushion in the upward folded position (Figure 2).
3. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the cover caps from the front of the rear bench seat trim (Figure 3).
4. Loosen, but do not remove, the two (2) rear seat bolts from the front of the rear bench seat (Figure 4).
5. Lift the bottom seat skirt on the back of the rear bench seat and loosen, but do not remove, the four (4) rear seat bolts (Figure 5).
6. With the mounting bolts loose, position the front end of each seat roller outboard until it contacts the slide rail. Position the back end of each seat roller inboard until it contacts the slide rail (Figure 6).
NOTE:
FOLLOW THE TIGHTENING SEQUENCE FOR THE SEAT BOLTS.
7. Tighten the rear seat bolts to 32-54 N-m (24-40 lb-ft) in the sequence shown (Figure 7).
8. Install the cover caps on the front of the rear bench seat trim.
