SAFETY RECALL 92S58
Brake Master Cylinder Inspection and Replacement

NOTE:
Some of these vehicles are also involved in Safety Recall 92S57. Check OASIS. Complete both recalls, if applicable, before releasing the vehicle.

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS

Inspection





1. Look for a spot of yellow paint on the END of the brake master cylinder (See Figure 1). Ignore any yellow paint on other areas of the brake master cylinder.

2. If there is yellow paint on the END of the brake master cylinder, no further action is required (yellow paint on the end indicates that the brake master cylinder is OK).

3. If there is no yellow paint on the END of the brake master cylinder, it must be replaced. See "Replacement" below.

Replacement

Replace brake master cylinder per 1993 Villager Shop Manual pages 06-06-5 and 06-06-6.

Destroy and discard removed master cylinder.

Replacement

1. Replace brake master cylinder per 1993 Villager Shop Manual pages 06-06-5 and 06-06-6.

2. Return the removed brake master cylinder, freight prepaid, to:

CLEARLY MARK ON OUTSIDE OF BOX: RECALL 92S58

Wire tag the removed master cylinder - include your:
- P&A Code
- Vehicle VIN Number
- Recall 92S58

NOTE:
The Warranty Parts Return Center will not be issuing an FPS-700 tag for return of these brake master cylinders. Therefore, return removed master cylinders immediately.
