Road Noise Front Lower A-Pillar Cowl/Fender Area

ROAD NOISE AT THE FRONT LOWER A-PILLAR COWL/FENDER AREA (VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 11/1/93)

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

Install a fender liner seal between the inner fender and body side A-pillar.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Remove four (4) front stoneguard screws and the front stoneguard (Figure 6).





3. Starting from the rear of the front fender well and moving toward the front of the vehicle, remove the first four (4) front fender splash shield screws. Also, remove the three (3) plastic clips in the lower rear area of the fender splash shield (Figure 7).





4. Fold the inner fender well toward the tire (Figure 8).





5. Install the fender stuffer (F3XY-16K059-C) against the outer fender flange and the inner wheel housing - body side (Figure 9).

6. Reverse the removal procedure to complete the installation.
