ISSUE:
A "squeaking" noise may be heard from the rear suspension while driving on bumpy roads. This may be due to rear leaf spring splay and/or paint build up on the rear leaf spring insulator.

ACTION:
Replace the rear leaf spring insulator and install rubber containment clip covers. The new insulators are free of paint, and the rear leaf spring insulators will prevent metal-to-metal contact. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Verify the customer concern by following the Diagnostic Flowchart. Refer to Figure 1.

2. When repair is required, refer to Instruction Sheet # 6565, included in the rear leaf spring noise repair kit (F4XY-5536-A), and Figures 2-4.
