This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to correct the Service Manual reference for Pinpoint Test FCC29 (contained in step 2).
ISSUE:
While driving the vehicle in temperatures above freezing, fog or condensation may appear on the side windows. While driving the vehicle in temperatures at or below freezing, a frost may appear.
ACTION:
inspect electrical connector C261 (behind RH side of instrument panel on fresh/recirculation door actuator) for proper installation and connect it if it is not properly connected. Also, a misunderstanding by the customer of the "recirc" mode may adversely affect the A/C system's ability to dehumidify the vehicle. Inform the customer on proper use of the "recirc" mode.
1. Inspect the Recirculation Actuator Door electrical connector C261 to verify proper connection. Refer to 1993 Villager Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual (EVTM), Page 151-5, Zone A9 (also see Figure 1).
2. If connected and the door is inoperative, perform pinpoint test FCC29 per the 1993 Villager Service Manual, Page 12-02-21, and repair as required.
3. Advise the customer that the "recirc" mode should not be selected when fogging conditions exist. Also advise the customer that high blower speed and opening a side vent window slightly will help evacuate humidity from the vehicle. The intent of the "recirc" mode is to improve cooling efficiency of the A/C system by recirculating cool air during hot conditions.
