^ Check the engine compression.

^ Check the oil level.

^ Check the valve cover.

^ Check the crankshaft.

^ Check the oil pan.

^ Check the oil filter.

^ Check the oil pump.

^ Check the cylinder head.

^ Check the engine block.

^ Check the valves.

^ Check the timing belt.

^ Check the intake manifold.

^ Is the basic engine OK?
