PCV 1 - Check PCV Valve

^ Run the engine at idle.





^ Remove the fresh air inlet hose from the PCV valve.

^ Verify that a hissing noise is heard as air passes through the valve and a strong vacuum is felt immediately when a finger is placed over the valve inlet.

^ Is the valve working properly?

YES -- GO to PCV2. PCV 2 - Check System Hoses

NO -- REPLACE the PCV valve.
