Electronic Brake Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

The antilock brake control module is located behind the instrument panel lower center panel.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the storage bin.

3. Remove the RH instrument panel lower cover and LH instrument panel lower cover.

4. Disconnect the foot lamp electrical connectors, if equipped.






5. Disconnect the antilock brake control module electrical harness connector. Use a screwdriver to pry back the metal retainer and remove the harness connector.

6. Disconnect the surrounding antilock brake control module electrical harness connectors and move the harnesses out of the way.






7. Remove three antilock brake control module screws from the module bracket.


CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If the module is exposed to these charges, damage may result.






8. Remove the antilock brake control module.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If the module is exposed to these charges, damage may result.

1. Position the antilock brake control module in the vehicle.






2. Install the three antilock brake control module screws in the module bracket.

3. Connect the surrounding antilock brake control module electrical harness connectors.

4. Connect the antilock brake control module electrical harness connector.

5. Connect the foot lamp electrical connectors, if equipped.

6. Install the RH instrument panel lower cover and LH instrument panel lower cover.

7. Install the storage bin.

8. Connect the battery ground cable.
