NOTE: Ford DOES NOT provide procedures other than those described to retrieve or clear trouble codes.

1. Key OFF.

Data Link Connector:

2. Ground the data link connector Pin 4 to initiate the Quick Test.

3. Key ON and wait approximately 3 seconds.

4. The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) trouble codes will begin to flash on the antilock brake warning indicator.

Trouble Code Format:

6. The first code will be the start code of 12 and will repeat 3 times. The next ABS trouble code will be the latest ABS trouble code to occur and will repeat 3 times before flashing the next code. After all codes have been retrieved, the codes will repeat beginning with the start code. If no ABS trouble codes are registered, the start code (12) will repeat continuously.
