Active Command Modes Menu (Screen Display J)
NOTE: ACTIVE COMMAND MODES function is available only on PCM.1. In the Mode Select Screen, highlight ACTIVE COMMAND MODES and press TRIGGER. Screen Display J will appear.
2. Turn the menu dial to highlight the item to test and press TRIGGER. Keep turning the menu dial to see items on the next screen.
Descriptions and screens of each available test follow.
3. Press CANCEL to get out of the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu and return to the Mode Select Screen.
A. FUEL INJECTION is set at +0%. Use the number keys, 3 through 8, to set the desired fuel injection value. The setting range is -25% to +25%. Engine rpm, ECT sensor temperature, Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) voltage, fuel pulse width (FUEL PW) and IAC valve opening are displayed. When this test is done, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
B. The IAC VALVE OPENING can be varied from 0% (closed) to 100% (wide open) by pressing number keys, 3 through 8, to set the desired value. Engine rpm, Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor voltage, and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor temperature are displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
C. The ENGINE COOLANT TEMP level can be simulated from -30°C to + 1 10°C (-22°F to 230°F) by pressing any of the number keys, 4 through 7. Engine rpm, Spark Out (SPOUT), Fuel Pulse Width (FUEL PW), Low Fan Relay (LFAN) and High Fan Relay (HFAN) status are displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
D. The IGNITION TIMING can be varied from -10 degree (10 degree BTDC) to 0 degree by pressing any of the number keys, 4 through 7. Engine rpm, SPOUT degree, IAC valve opening, and IDLE SW are displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
E. POWER BALANCE: Fuel injectors to any or all of the six cylinders can be initialized by pressing key number 3 for cylinder #1, key number 4 for cylinder #2,etc.
Engine rpm, MAF sensor voltage and AC valve opening are displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
F. The COOLING FAN can be set to OFF, LOW, or HIGH by pressing the number key 3, 5, or 7. ECT sensor temperature, LFAN and HFAN status are displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
G. The FUEL PUMP RELAY can be set to ON, OFF, or ON/OFF (relay is repeatedly cycled on and off in three second intervals) by pressing the number key 3, 5, or 7. Engine rpm is displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
H. The EGR CONTROL SOLENOID can be set to ON, OFF, or ON 10FF (solenoid is repeatedly cycled on and off in three second intervals) by pressing the number key 3, 5, or 7. Engine rpm and IAC valve opening are displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
I. The SELF-LEARNING CONTROL learned data for the air/fuel ratio feedback compensation can be cleared by pressing TRIGGER. Engine rpm, ECT sensor temperature, HO2S voltage, and A/F COR (air/fuel correction ratio compensation) are displayed. When this test is completed, press CANCEL to return to the ACTIVE COMMAND MODES menu (Screen Display J).
