Fuel Return Line: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

^ The fuel delivery lines and hoses allow fuel to travel from the fuel pump outlet to the fuel filter and on to the fuel rail and injectors.

^ The fuel return lines and hoses allow fuel to flow from the fuel pressure regulator to the return fitting on the fuel pump and into the tank.

^ The fuel evaporation tube allows fuel vapor to flow from the fuel tank through the check valve and into the carbon canister.

CONSTRUCTION

The fuel lines are made of stainless steel and the hoses are made of high pressure type materials (to withstand fuel pressures needed for fuel injection systems).

The hose clamps are a high pressure stainless steel type and should not be replaced with standard hose clamps.
