BPA1 - Check Idle Speed Adjustment



^ Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.

^ Engine Off.

^ Turn all accessories to off.

^ Connect a Rotunda NGS Scan Tool 007-00500.

^ Start engine and run at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes.

^ Run the engine at idle.

^ Accelerate the engine at 2000-3000 RPM 2 or 3 times.

^ Run the engine at idle.

^ Select WORK SUPPORT on NGS Scan Tool.

^ Select AC VALVE ADJUST.

^ Follow the instructions on the NGS Scan Tool screen display.

^ Check the initial ignition timing using Rotunda Timing Analyzer 059-00014 or equivalent. Adjust if necessary.

^ Note the base idle speed.




General Specifications:





^ Adjust the air adjustment screw for the correct base idle speed (see the General Specifications table in image).

^ Shut engine off and rerun test.

^ Turn the engine off, and allow to cool.

^ After the engine has cooled, restart and note idle speed in DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.

^ When the engine is started cold, does the RPM increase?

NO -- GO to BPA2. BPA2 - Check BPA Valve Resistance
