BPA3 - Check BPA Valve Function

^ Remove the Bypass Air (BPA) valve from the engine.

^ Cool the BPA valve.





^ When the valve is cold (room temperature) blow through the valve air port or air inlet.

^ Verify that air flows freely through the valve.

^ Apply 12 volts and ground to the BPA valve connector.

^ Verify that the bimetal moves to restrict bypass airflow.

^ Does the BPA valve function properly?

YES -- GO to BPA4. BPA4 - Check IAC Valve Resistance


NO -- REPLACE the BPA valve.
