Component Tests

DOOR LATCH SWITCH
1. Key OFF
2. Disconnect the LH and RH door latch switch connectors (inside the front door).





3. Measure the resistance between the two wire terminals at the door latch switch connectors under the conditions shown.
4. If the resistances are correct, return to the Pinpoint Tests. Otherwise, replace the door latch switch (part of the front door latch).

SHOULDER STRAP SWITCH, FRONT
1. Key OFF
2. Disconnect the front shoulder strap switch connector.





3. Measure the resistance between the following wire terminals at the shoulder strap switches under the conditions shown.
4. If the resistances are correct, return to the Pinpoint Tests. Otherwise, replace the front shoulder strap switch (part of the front seat shoulder strap track).

SHOULDER STRAP SWITCH, REAR
1. Key OFF.
2. Disconnect the rear shoulder strap switch connectors.





3. Measure the resistance between the following wire terminals at the shoulder strap switches under the conditions shown.
4. It the resistances are correct, return to the Pinpoint Tests. Otherwise, replace the rear shoulder strap switch (part of the front seat shoulder strap track).

SAFETY BELT RETRACTOR MOTOR
1. Key OFF.
2. Disconnect the rear shoulder strap switch connectors.





3. Using jumper wires, make the connections shown at the rear shoulder strap switch (contains the safety belt retractor motor) to move the front seat shoulder strap carrier from the front body pillar (A-pillar) to the center body pillar.
4. Reverse the power and ground leads to move the front seat shoulder strap carrier from the center body pillar (B-pillar) to the front body pillar (A-pillar).
5. If the safety belt retractor motor operates properly, return to the Pinpoint Tests. Otherwise, replace the safety belt retractor motor (part of the front seat shoulder strap track).
