QT4 Check Warning Indicator With Engine Running

- Start the engine.

- Drive the vehicle if necessary.

NOTE: Certain ABS faults require that the vehicle be driven in order for the antilock brake warning indicator to come on. Other faults will cause the antilock brake warning indicator to turn on each time the engine is started.

- Observe the antilock brake warning indicator.

- Does the antilock brake warning indicator illuminate?

YES -- Indicates a present failure. Go to QT5. QT5 Perform ABS Trouble Code Retrieval

NO -- Normal operation. If ABS symptoms exists, there may be an intermittent problem. Go to QT5. QT5 Perform ABS Trouble Code Retrieval

If no ABS symptoms exist, ABS is operating normally. Go to Diagnosis by Symptom. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
