Brake Switch - TCC: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The Brake On/Off (BOO) switch is located on the brake pedal. Power is supplied to the BOO switch with the ignition switch in the ON or START position. When the brake pedal is depressed, the BOO switch de-energizes the shift lock actuator allowing the shift control selector lever and the Transmission Range (TR) switch to be moved out of the PARK (P) range. During braking, the BOO switch signals the Transmission Control Module (TCM) which will disengage the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC), if the TCC is engaged.
