Transmission Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The Pulse Signal Generator is a pickup coil that produces a speed signal input to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) from the output gears. The TCM uses this signal to compare to the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal input and uses it as the basic signal for shift control.
