Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Depress switch electrical connector tabs, then disconnect electrical connector.
3. Loosen switch locknut, then remove switch.
4. Reverse procedure to install, Adjust switch height as follows:
a. Measure distance between brake pedal stopper and threaded end of switch, 0.012-0.039 inch should be indicated.
b. If not as indicated, loosen switch locknut and adjust switch until height is within specification.
c. Torque switch locknut to 9-11 ft. lbs.
