Fill Procedure

INITIAL FILL
1. Disconnect the ignition coil to distributor high tension wiring.
2. Fill the power steering oil reservoir to the MAX mark.
3. Raise and support the front wheels.
4. Crank the engine with the starter motor. Add fluid to the power steering oil reservoir until the level remains constant.
5. While cranking the engine, turn the steering wheel from stop to stop. Check the fluid level and add fluid if necessary.

CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel against a stop for more than 15 seconds at a time.

6. Connect the ignition coil to distributor high tension wiring.

FINAL FILL
1. Start the engine and allow it to idle for several minutes.
2. Turn the steering wheel from stop to stop several times.

CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel against a stop for more than 15 seconds at a time.

3. Turn off the engine and check the fluid level. Add fluid as necessary.
4. Lower the vehicle.
