Service Procedure
1. Remove the battery. Refer to the appropriate Villager Service Manual, Section 14-01.2. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to the Service Manual, Section 03-12.
3. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to the Service Manual, Section 03-03.
4. Remove the battery tray. Refer to the Service Manual, Section 14-01.
5. Remove the evaporative emissions canister and evaporative emissions canister bracket. Refer to the Service Manual, Section 03-12.
6. Support the transaxle with a floor jack.
7. Remove the front transaxle support insulator through-bolt. Refer to Figure 1.
8. Remove the three (3) front transaxle support insulator bolts and the front transaxle support insulator. Refer to Figure 1.
9. Install the revised Front Transaxle Support Insulator (XF5Z-6038-AA) and torque the bolts to 41-52 N.m (30-38 lb-ft).
10. Install the front transaxle support insulator through-bolt and tighten to 64-73 N.m (47-54 lb-ft).
11. Remove the rear transaxle support insulator through-bolt and nut.
12. Remove the three (3) rear transaxle support bracket bolts.
13. Raise and support the vehicle.
14. Remove the three (3) rear transaxle support insulator nuts.
15. Lower the vehicle.
16. Remove the rear transaxle support insulator and rear transaxle support bracket.
NOTE
SWAP THE RUBBER PADS FROM THE OLD BRACKET TO THE REVISED BRACKET BEFORE INSTALLATION.
17. Position the replacement Rear Transaxle Support Insulator (XF5Z-6038-BA) and Rear Transaxle Support Bracket (XF5Z-6096-AA) in place.
18. Loosely install the revised longer rear transaxle support insulator through-bolt and nut.
19. Install and tighten the three (3) bracket bolts to 43-56 N.m (32-41 lb-ft).
20. Raise and support the vehicle.
21. Install and tighten the rear transaxle support insulator bracket nuts to 43-56 N.m (32-41 lb-ft).
22. Lower the vehicle and tighten the through-bolt and nut to 43-56 N.m (32-41 lb-ft).
23. Reinstall remaining components in reverse order of removal. Refer to the Service Manual for procedures and torque specifications.
