WINDOW - FRONT DOOR WINDOWS BIND DURING RAISING AND/OR LOWERING - VEHICLES BUILT THROUGH 4/1/97
LIGHT TRUCK:
1993-97 VILLAGER
ISSUE:
The front door windows may bind during travel (raising and/or lowering). This may be caused by the front door glass rubber not being properly installed into the door sheet metal channel.
ACTION:
Readjust window regulator and/or window hardware. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Inspect the front door glass run rubber for any distortion, especially at the mirror area.
2. Verify the glass run rubber is properly installed in the front door sheet metal channel and the front door lower sash channels. Replace the door glass run rubber if necessary.
3. Adjust the window regulator:
a. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Section 01-05 of the 1997 Villager Service Manual for details.
b. Gently pull the clear plastic watershield away from the door panel to expose the window regulator bolts.
c. Loosen the four (4) front window glass regulator track bolts. Refer to Figure 1.
d. Position and tighten the top forward-most glass regulator track bolt so that there is approximately 3 mm (0.125") clearance between the front edge of the slot and the bolt flange. Refer to Figure 2. The bolt should now be positioned toward the rear of the slot.
e. Tighten the other top glass track bolt.
f. Tighten both lower glass regulator track bolts.
4. Verify the repair by operating the window several times.
