ISSUE:
A "whistling" noise is heard from the front of the vehicle at speeds above 56 km/h (35 mph). This may be due to a hood seal which is allowing air currents to form at the front edge of the hood hem flange.

ACTION:
Replace the hood seals with a revised one-piece Hood Seal (F7XZ-16856-AA). Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Raise the front hood to the UP position.

2. Remove the current two-piece hood seal and all attaching push pins (Figure 1).

3. Clean the surface of the hood hem flange to assure the tape will adhere.

4. Clip the revised one-piece Hood Seal (F7XZ-16856-AA) to the hood flange utilizing the attached push pins. Begin at the center and work outward.

5. Lower hood.

6. Starting from either the left or right side of the hood, slowly peel back the orange tab, exposing the tape.

7. Carefully position the seal edge to the front edge of the hood flange. Starting from the center of the hood and working outward, push up on the bottom portion of the seal making sure the tip of the seal is at the front edge of the hood (Figure 2).
