SEATS - CUSHION LABEL FALLS OFF 3RD ROW PASSENGER SEAT

LIGHT TRUCK:
1996 VILLAGER

ISSUE:
The instruction label may peel off of the 3rd row passenger seat. This may be caused by the adhesive failing to properly hold the label in place.

ACTION:
Install a new label. The new label has improved adhesive to hold the label in place and is 6 mm (0.25") larger to cover any remaining old label. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove any remaining pieces of the old label by peeling off with hand.

2. With the cushion in the storage position, open the "J-clips" located on the bottom rear of the cushion by unclipping.

3. Remove any loose pans of the label by peeling off by hand. The new label will cover any remaining portion of the old label.

4. Obtain a household iron and set the iron to the Polyester/Cotton setting.

5. Place a backing board made of cardboard or wood behind the fabric where the label is located. Make sure the backing board is not trapped behind the foam pad.

6. Place the label in the proper location on the seat. This is the same location the previous label was installed. The new label should cover the existing label. Use tape to hold the label in place.

7. Iron on the label by rubbing the entire surface of the label with the hot iron.

8. Remove the backing board and let cool for 3 minutes.

9. Peel off the tape and backing paper.

10. Make sure all edges of the new label are adhered to the fabric. Use a fingernail at each corner and on all edges and pick lightly to see if the label will peel.

11. If peeling is observed, repeat Steps 4 through 9 for the area that is peeling.

12. Close the cushion by clipping "J-clips" located on the bottom of the cushion. Make sure the "J-clips" snap together.
