Flow of Diagnosis
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the electronic door lock control system.2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage:

Mechanical
^ Binding latches
Electrical
^ Failed fuse(s)
^ Damaged relays
^ Damaged wiring harness
^ Loose or corroded connections
^ Damaged Generic Electronic Module (GEM)
^ Damaged Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module
^ Damaged keyless entry keypad
^ Damaged keyless entry remote transmitter
^ Damaged door open warning lamp switch
3. If the inspection reveals an obvious concern that is readily repaired, correct the concern before continuing with the Inspection and Verification.
4. If a concern remains after the inspection, use New Generation STAR (NGS) tester to retrieve continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for the remote anti-theft personality module. Perform the On-Demand Self-Test for the RAP module.
5. If the self-test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, go to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
6. If DTCs are retrieved, go to the DTC index to continue diagnostics.
7. If the RAP module cannot be accessed by NGS tester, Go to pinpoint test F. F: No Communications With Remote Anti-Theft Personality Module
8. If the fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom chart and proceed to the symptom chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
