Child Safety Seat

DISASSEMBLY







1. Open the child safety seat.







2. Remove the comfort pad.







3. Remove the outboard safety belt anchor bolt.







4. Remove the inboard safety belt anchor bolt.







5. Remove the child safety seat base.







6. Remove the back panel screws.







7. Remove the head restraint.
1. Hold the back panel far enough away from the seat to access the head restraint spring clips.
2. Pull the spring clips enough to disengage them from the head restraint.
3. Remove the head restraint.







8. Thread the safety belts through the back panel and remove the back panel.
9. Remove the inboard safety belt buckle bracket bolt and bracket.
10. Drill out the blind rivet and remove the cross strap.

CAUTION: Use care when drilling so as not to enlarge the hole.

ASSEMBLY
1. Position the cross strap.
2. Install a new M6.3 x 13.5 blind rivet.







3. Install the back panel.
1. Thread the safety belts through the back panel.
2. Position the back panel.
3. Install the back panel screws.







4. Install the integrated child seat head restraint.
5. Position the safety belt anchors.

NOTE: The integrated child safety seat safety belt anchors are designed with a bend. When installing the safety belts make sure the bends are away from any potential child seat occupant.







6. Position the child safety seat base.

NOTE: The inboard pivot is keyed. Be sure that it is properly seated prior to the safety belt anchor bolt installation.







7. Install the inboard safety belt anchor bolt.







8. Install the outboard safety belt anchor bolt.







9. Install the comfort pad.







10. Close the child safety seat.







11. Install the inboard safety belt bracket bolt.

NOTE:
^ Slide the cross-strap tab into the slot in the safety belt bracket before installing the bolt.
^ Be sure to install the spacer between the safety belt bracket and the recliner mechanism.
