The AWD Dana 35 front axle does not use hub locks at the wheel ends. The axle housing is made of aluminum.

The front axle is of the integral carrier housing hypoid-gear driven type. The centerline of the drive pinion is located below the centerline of the ring gear.

The drive pinion is supported by two opposed taper roller bearings and cups which are pressed into the axle housing.


Bolt-on-bearing caps keep the differential case and bearings in place.
