Radiator Core Repair

These instructions apply only to leaks within approximately 20 mm (0.79 inch) of the radiator outlet tank or radiator inlet tank. Leaks occurring beyond this limit may be soldered in the normal manner. If the exact position of the leak cannot be found, particularly if it is very near either the radiator outlet tank or radiator inlet tank, treat a larger area to ensure that the leak is covered.

Use a brush to apply a thin, even coat of Dow Corning 1200 Primers, or equivalent. Allow it to dry for 10 minutes at room temperature. Apply Dow Corning Silastic 734 RTV or equivalent in undiluted form. Allow it to dry for one hour at room temperature so that a non-adhesive, pressure-resistant surface film can develop.
