Backup Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: The backup lamp is part of the liftgate reflector panel.

1. Remove the liftgate door trim panel.

NOTE: The RH liftgate reflector panel must be removed before the LH liftgate reflector panel.

2. Remove the plastic weathershield from the liftgate.







3. Remove the RH backup lamp bulb socket from the RH liftgate reflector panel.







4. Remove the nine nuts from the RH liftgate reflector panel.
5. Remove the RH liftgate reflector panel by carefully prying the RH liftgate reflector panel away from the liftgate.

CAUTION: The RH liftgate reflector panel is held on to the liftgate by double-stick tape. Do not damage the paint.

6. Remove the LH backup lamp socket from the LH liftgate reflector panel.
7. Remove the nine nuts from the LH liftgate reflector panel.
8. Remove the LH liftgate reflector panel by carefully prying the LH liftgate reflector panel away from the liftgate.

CAUTION: The LH liftgate reflector panel is also held on the liftgate by double-stick tape. Do not damage the paint.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: The LH liftgate reflector panel must be installed before the RH liftgate reflector panel.
