Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify customer concern by operating the backup lamps.
2. Visually inspect the components of the backup lamp system.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Damaged shift cable and bracket
- Damaged Transmission Range (TR) switch
- Damaged shift indicator

Electrical
- Blown fuse:
- 10 A ELECTRON
- Damaged backup lamp bulb(s)
- Damaged wiring harness
- Loose or corroded connections

3. Check the wiring harness for obvious signs of shorts, opens, bad connections, or damage.
4. If fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
