Illuminated Entry

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the illuminated entry system.
2. Visually inspect the components of the illuminated entry system.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Improperly aligned door

Electrical
- Blown fuse(s):
- 7.5 A SEC
- Damaged bulb(s):
- Front dome lamp
- Body side door step lamp
- LH foot lamp (if equipped)
- RH toot lamp (if equipped)
- Damaged wiring harness
- Loose or corroded connections
- Damaged or corroded courtesy lamp switch

3. Verify the following lamps illuminate with any door open:
- Front dome lamp
- Body side door step lamp
- LH and RH foot lamps (if equipped)
If courtesy lamps are not illuminating, refer to the Courtesy Lamps Inoperative Pinpoint Tests. Pinpoint Tests
4. Check the wiring harness for obvious signs of shorts, opens, bad connections, or damage.
5. If fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Illuminated Entry
